Friendly Vintage World Cup Football Tournament in Sydney

With the rising anticipation of the opening of the Fifa World Cup in Brazil this June, another kind of World Cup will take place in Sydney this May: The VINTAGE World Cup.

Vintage World Cup Sydney is hosting a friendly football tournament on Saturday, 3 May 2014 and is looking for teams from all the nationalities of Sydney. Twenty teams will compete in a friendly and authentic spirit to win the first Vintage World Cup football competition.

For those of you who like football and feel patriotic, this would be a great opportunity to meet new people and have fun playing the world game. It is a one-day, five-a-side tournament open to everyone. All teams will get to wear World Cup shirts of years past (imported from Europe), which have NO sponsor logos or modern-art designs, and NO revolutionary anti-transparent material. The shirt will just be one colour and will display the emblem of the nation you are representing. If you decide to join the Swiss team, you will wear a red shirt with the Swiss national flag – truly authentic and retro! Vintage matching moustache/hairstyle is optional but will be appreciated! The tournament will take place at Indoor Central Mascot.

The Vintage World Cup applications will end on Tuesday, 25 March. Please visit the website to choose your favourite shirt and apply as a team if you want to join for a whole day of fun!

LET'S PLAY WITH STYLE!
