ROLE DESCRIPTIONS

 

President: is a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd, attends and co-organises monthly Board meetings, events and chairs the Annual General Meeting.

 

Vice President: attends monthly Board meetings. May be a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd. Supports the President in managing events and running the Club, particularly when he/she is away.

 

Club Secretary: attends monthly Board meetings and helps in taking minutes. May be a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd. Liaises on behalf of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd with the Swiss Consulate, and is responsible for preparing invitation/agenda and minutes for the Annual General Meeting to support the President.

 

Treasurer: attends monthly Board meetings and brings monthly financial accounts. May be a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd. Is a signatory of the Club's bank account. Liaises on behalf of the Club with advertisers of the Swiss Community News magazine, and other service providers to ensure the Club achieves its goal of maintaining its financial reserves.

 

Membership Secretary: attends monthly Board meetings and brings monthly report on incoming members. May be a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd. Liaises on behalf of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd with all new members, processing applications and producing mailing lists of up-to-date member addresses.

 

Functions & Events: supports the President in choosing the annual calendar of events, booking venues, advertising, selling tickets, dividing up organisational tasks for the event among the Board, managing RSVPs and checking attendees at the event itself. Liaises with the Treasurer on profit/loss and with other Board members as needed.

 

Advisory: attends monthly Board meetings and helps raise sponsorship, particularly for events. May be a Director of Swiss Club of NSW Ltd. Is a signatory of the Club’s bank account.

 

Publications: contributes content to online and in print publications, and liaises with staff paid to produce the ‘Swiss Community News’ three times per year, including: Editor Barbara Koeppel; artwork designer, Creative Pause and printer, Minute Man Press.

 

Honorary Solicitor: is the legal counsel to the Club and invariably acts pro bono for the Club (which is non-profit), for which the Club is very grateful.

 

Webmaster: set-up and maintains the www.swissclubnsw.com website, manages social media pages, sends the monthly eNewsflashes to members and friends of the Club, and liaises with individuals from the wider Swiss community in Australia and abroad, along with Swiss businesses and affiliates.
